What are the two types of LPA?
Property & Financial Affairs: lets appointed attorneys make decisions about finances and property within the authority given.
Health & Welfare: covers certain care, health and welfare decisions, generally when the person cannot make the particular decision themselves.

Standard Wills
Professionally prepared Wills
Choose a single Will or two coordinated Wills for a couple.
Single Will
£149
A professionally prepared Will for one person.
Mirror Wills
£199
Total for both people: two coordinated Wills.
Planning for children under 18
Standard provisions for children under 18 are included in our Standard and Mirror Will fees where appropriate. There is no automatic extra charge simply because you have minor children.
Bespoke bereaved minor's trust drafting: quoted separately where your circumstances require additional trustee powers, tailored inheritance arrangements or specialist drafting. An additional fee is agreed before work begins.
18-to-25 Will trusts: from £150 additional drafting fee, subject to suitability and the complexity of your instructions. This is different from a trust where the child becomes fully entitled at 18, and potential Inheritance Tax exit charges should be explained.
A qualifying bereaved minor's trust normally arises under a deceased parent's Will and must meet specific conditions. Drafting a Will does not mean a trust already exists; any administration after death is separate.
Xwills preparation fees shown below. OPG registration fees are separate; details appear at the bottom of this page.

Full LPA assistance, from consultation to OPG submission
Arrange your LPA by telephone, Zoom, Microsoft Teams or another agreed video-call service, wherever you live in England and Wales. You do not need to use an online portal or visit our office.
Personal guidance throughout: help choosing the LPA type, attorneys, replacement attorneys and how they should act.
Preparation and free draft amendments: we prepare your LPA and amend the draft at no additional charge before you approve it for signing.
Clear signing instructions: we explain who signs what, where to sign, who can witness, the certificate provider’s role and the correct signing order.
Checking before submission: we check your completed signed documents and help resolve any issues before you send the originals directly to the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG). We explain where to send them and provide assistance through the registration process.
Your consultation can be remote; the LPA documents still need the required signatures and witnessing. We guide you through these practical steps.
OPG registration fees are separate from our preparation fee: £92 per LPA, subject to any reduction or exemption. Preparing two LPAs yourself therefore costs £184 in standard OPG fees; using Xwills adds the published preparation fee. No VAT is added to our fees.
Which type of LPA do I need?
Property & Financial Affairs: enables your attorneys to manage financial and property matters within the powers granted.

One important point
If you choose a Trust Will, your Will is already included in the price.
If you choose an Estate Allocation Trust, the core Will review and implementation work required to put the trust in place is also included within the £2,995 fee.
Office of the Public Guardian registration fees are additional: £92 for each LPA (£184 for two; £368 for four). Government charges can change and reductions or exemptions may apply, so check the current fee when registering.
You do not need to know the name of the legal document or trust before speaking to us. Explain the family, property or planning issue and we can discuss the relevant options.
