A Property Protection Trust (PPT) works by severing the joint tenancy of your home into 'Tenants in Common'. This allows each partner to leave their 50% share into a life interest trust. This ringfenced asset is protected for your heirs from being seized for care home fees or lost through a surviving partner's remarriage.
We change your home ownership from 'Joint Tenants' to 'Tenants in Common'. You still own 100% together, but now have a defined 50% share each.
Your Will grants the survivor a 'Life Interest'. They have a legal right to live in the home, sell it, or move—but they do not "own" your 50% share outright.
Because the survivor doesn't own your half, that 50% cannot be seized for care fees or lost if they remarry. It is locked safely for your children.

Property Protection Trust (PPT) Wills, which include property severance and trust provisions, are priced at £345 for individuals or £495 for couples, offering fixed-fee protection for the family home.
Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) drafting costs £195 for one person (either Health or Finance) or £245 for both types. For couples, one type costs £245, while a full mirror package for all four documents is £395. Note that the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) charges a separate statutory registration fee of £92 per document.
